TOSHIBA

Toshiba developed Tissue Doppler Imaging( TDI), a scanning mode that can be
relevant when applied to studies of the myocardium. TDI, in short, quantifies
the cardiac wall motion instead of blood flow. By utilizing the high frame rates
of QSP, TDI provides information on tissue velocity and direction. The extended

TDI, PSAX view, demonstarting normal left ventricular systolic function. Motion towards the transducer is coded as red and motion is coded as blue.

Doppler algorithm excludes the conventional hemodynamic color flow and
color encodes only the emotion of the myocardial tissue. TDI analyzes the
Doppler shift information and calculates and displays the velocity of the
moving tissue in Color Display, providing information on the magnitude
and direction of myocardial motion.
