TOSHIBA

Perpendicular scanning of a vascular
wall with an ultrasound beam provides
a clear B-mode image. However, as
the angle between the ultrasound beam
and the blood flow is decreased, more
precise Doppler information can be
obtained. Doppler measurements are
generally accurately obtained when a
60° is maintained between the beam and
the flow. With the Independent Steering
function, all these conditions can be
satisfied at the same time by setting the
angles for B mode, color Doppler and
pulsed-wave Doppler at the optimum angle.
